Hiking Girls

Title: Hiking Girls
Author: Kim Hye Jung
Size: 13 x 20.5 cm
pages: 276 pages

Girls hiking different novels Korean adolescents (both from Korea authors will even local authors) that the majority of the story about love / romance. The story in this novel focuses on the inner turmoil of the main characters, which Eun Sung and Bo Ra. Eun Sung, a child born out of wedlock, often bullied and teased her age. He also chose the path of violence to solve its problems. Not to mention, at Grandma's house just Eun Sung who care about her, while her mother tended to ignore and do not want to know the condition of his daughter.
Another with Bo Ra. He chose the wrong way to get rid of depression, by stealing and had even attempted suicide. Judging from the psychological side, of course both boys 'sick' and should receive special treatment.
Eun Sung and Bo Ra in this novel is proof that teens should not be blind to the parents. There are still many parents who thought her teenage children are grown and do not need to be considered like a kid again. In fact, teens still need attention and guidance from parents. Affection, of course not only a command and prohibition, but rather leads to an emotional approach with him to talk and discuss. Undoubtedly, children will be more open to the parents of the problems he is experiencing. And of course, fights, violence, or oppression is not the kind of 'way out' to be chosen.
Hiking Girls is not just an adventure novel (less appropriate subtitle ya), but it is also a novel about the journey to find the identity of the youth. Hopefully, we can take a lot of life lessons from the novel which was translated directly from the Korean language.
