This novel tells the story of the fate of someone who never stopped miserable doom-ridden.
Starting from a burning house Syahbudin. Fire that made poor. Syahbudin lived with two children Mansyur and Laminah.
Syahbudin died of illness, and Laminah Mansyur raised by his uncle who has no conscience variety of verbal abuse and beatings received Mansyur and Laminah every day. Eventually they go try his luck across the country, Bengkulu, hoping to discover the fate of a more hospitable to them.
There they lived in the bakery where they work. Soon they came out because there was more comfort by Laminah stay in the store. Sekeluarnya Mansyur and Laminah from the bakery, Mansyur Chinese people get a job at the store. Unfortunately misfortune is never far from them, Mansyur jailed for allegedly stealing people's money. It was frantic heart Laminah on the fate of his sister. Laminah grew frantic and devastated after his meeting with the dervish, until he could no longer stand to face any calamity that is always up to him and he gave up on the game fate.
The author does not give a detailed explanation about the end of life of the characters. As death Syahbudin here not explained how he got the disease that caused her death. And the reason he dropped Laminah sea is not so clear. "For days he thought, why did it fall Laminah sea .... but in vain. Only Malik who know about it, but he never opened his mouth, for fear he will carry-carry. Thus the sad secret of magic is forever hidden, unknown men. "(P. 121). Lots of good morals contained in this novel, like to get something we want we need to be strong in the face of all the trials. It should not be just resigned to the fate that has been laid down for us. This novel can be read by all people, of course with the hope sipembaca motivation to continue to strive to get peace in life.
This is a great book to be read by all people because it contains a lot of trust embodied in life can be a lesson.
